Meet The CEO/FOUNDER
Tiffany M. Allen is the CEO /Founder of Vision of Youth Center.
Born and raised in the Philadelphia area she has experienced, first hand, the importance of having a supportive environment that encourages education and a creative outlet. During her school age years she attended school in a district that lacked many resources. However, Tiffany was determined not to be a product of her environment and continued her education at Shippensburg University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
During her time at Shippensburg University, Ms. Allen was not only a part of, but also started a performing arts group called the SU Heritage Dancers. It was during this time that she realized her passion for the creative arts and its place in education. Tiffany also served as a mentor in the Pittsburgh Partnership Program where she was able to combine her leadership skills with her natural ability to care for others. These experiences drove her ambition to help others-especially children.
After she graduated she went on to hold numerous positions in the community that provided her with an array of experiences working with the youth in many different capacities. Tiffany has over ten years of experience in the educational field in addition to these examples from her background:
-
Before & After school Child Care Director-YMCA
-
Preschool Teacher-YMCA
-
Family service worker -DCIU Head Start Program
-
Private childcare
-
Program Coordinator-Charm Girls Rock (mentoring program for girls)
In her personal life Tiffany is a dedicated daughter, compassionate friend, and a diligent student; as she is currently pursuing her Masters of Education at Saint Joseph’s University. While pursuing her degree she also works for a community organization that focuses on Autism awareness and support. When she isn’t at work or school she is involved with attending professional business and leadership conferences to better serve VOYC.
Tiffany is dedicated to the success of her organization as a safe place where the youth can have an outlet to express themselves and have the resources to find their purpose and hope for their future. This is evidenced in her daily life as she works tirelessly on programming ideas, fundraisers, and community events that support the mission of VOYC. The Vision of Youth Center is not just an idea or a business for Tiffany; it is her passion. VOYC is a representation of her determination, love of the performing arts, and desire to have a positive impact on the youth of the community.
As the CEO/Founder of Vision of Youth Center, Tiffany is inspired by giving back to the community and showing the youth that they each have a special gift that the world needs to see. She will continue to make her mark on the community and on all those who enter the VOYC -one program, one smile, and one vision at a time
